The courage to be unconventional has paid off. In Amsterdam, the Dutch specialist magazine Zeilen has chosen the Varianta 44 as its Boat of the Year. A lot of boat, coupled with a lot of fun sailing, all for a reasonable price; these were the main reasons why it was selected, explained Marinus von Sijdenborgh, one of the editorial department’s testing team. “A nofrills yacht as good as this deserves the award,” said Mr von Sijdenborgh.
It is not always the best or prettiest boats that are honoured; more often than not it’s the yachts that amaze us the most which stand the greatest chance of winning a prize. A chance to get away from it all in a sailing yacht. Sailing fun without compromise. Comfort and speed all in one. A focus on the basics. This has all been achieved by the Varianta 44. The draft produced by the successful design company judel / vrolijk & co. promises a fast yet chic yacht. At 13.33 metres in length, the Varianta 44 can effortlessly accommodate several people both on and below deck, so there is nothing stopping you from sharing the sailing fun. The Varianta 44 includes a mainsheet traveller, backstay adjuster and a sheet system, all of which ensure the best possible sailing experience. Henrike Gänß is responsible for the interior of the boat, where the individuality and ample space ensure that the Varianta lives up to the standards of innovative design.
